Photography is a marvelous invention—isn't it? But consider another option of capturing your special day (or moment) in other mediums. I could go on and on about the relationship between paint and photo, but trust me, that's another post.
I was asked by a local artist at my own wedding to have permission to live paint our ceremony. I loved the idea and happily invited her along. It was such a great addition to our ceremony. As guests waited, they gazed over to watch her painting in the atmosphere. There's something so special about watching a live artist.
Back to photography: I've seen a lot of examples that approach hyper-realism, and start to lose the feel of paint (in my opinion, if you're looking for realism, your photographer has probably got it). The beautiful part of this addition to your wedding expression, character, color and quite literal shape of your day. Abstracted, interpreted paintings bring subtlety and romance—where marks make meaning.
Here's a few words of advice before choosing a live painter:
Not into the wedding addition but like the concept? Well aren't you just in luck! Take your favorite wedding photo and send it over to your painter of choice. There are some artists that make living out of painting your wedding images, pets and babies. Here is a feature of my absolute favorite, magical, tasteful, drool-inducing painter : Rachel Wadlow.
She looked like a real-life doll, he was so anxious to marry her. Their wedding was full of fun loving friends and family. It was a bright summertime day, and the mimosas & kegs were flowing. This is Kassidi and Christian.
